Morrison adds another two medals to his storied career

first_imgDenny Morrison is continuing to add to his trophy room. Morrison was in Heerenveen, Netherlands for the ISU Long Track Speed Skating World Single Distance Championships when on Friday he won a silver medal in the 1,500 metre race, and he added one more silver in the team pursuit event.Morrison’s silver in the 1,500 gave him his ninth individual medal at the World Single Distance Championships which ties him with Canadian skaters Jeremy Wotherspoon, and Kristina Groves.He clocked in at 1:45.08 in the event which was a staggering time in that it was almost a full second better than his previous best time this season.- Advertisement -In a release Morrison said, “The race went as planned. I started attacking in the second lap, and then I just trusted the plan and what my coaches told me, in that I was in good enough shape to hang on until the end and I did. I hung on quite well in the last lap.”In the team pursuit Morrison joined fellow Canadian skaters Ted-Jan Bloemen, and Jordan Belchos. The trio finished the race in 3:44.09.last_img
