Just two years ago, Texas A&M’s sophomore phenom Kenny Hill was one of the biggest names in college football. Now, after sitting out for a season, the talented yet occasionally erratic signal caller leads a TCU team that is riding high following a 62-22 victory at Baylor.Hill is still a skilled quarterback, but his current numbers don’t come close to his production at A&M. This season, the junior has thrown for almost 2,700 yards and 14 touchdowns but has also thrown 10 interceptions. Here’s a quick analysis on the Horned Frogs’ starting QB.Hill has a rocket arm and frequently gives his receivers one-on-one opportunities down the field. He is also a gifted runner and has seven rushing touchdowns on the season. He is often used both in the read option game. And in the red zone on simple sprint zone plays like this one. When it comes to prototypes, Hill is the epitome of a gunslinger; he never plays conservatively. He is also a true dual-threat quarterback, and he uses his feet to extend plays and put pressure on the defense. Sometimes that produces some awe-inspiring plays. But Hill can occasionally get antsy in the pocket and make mistakes. And he has a tendency to stare down receivers. So why is this important? Well, as we’ve seen, Hill is a skilled passer when given time, and he has proven the ability to make plays and scramble outside of the pocket. But sometimes defensive pressure and his aggressive mentality lead him to make mistakes. If the Cowboys keep the same defensive philosophy that they’ve used in the past couple of games, Hill will just have to sit back and command an offensive system that is designed to pick apart soft zone defenses. If the Cowboys play aggressively, and they try to confuse and pressure Hill, they could effectively rattle the junior and end up forcing a turnover or two (which has happened a lot to TCU this year). How aggressive do you think OSU’s defensive game plan will be? Transfers ‘I’ve been average’ – Arsenal target Malcom admits he must improve Robin Bairner 23:43 15/3/2018 FacebookTwitterRedditcopy Comments(0) Getty Images Transfers Arsenal Bordeaux v Rennes Arsenal v Milan Bordeaux Rennes Milan Ligue 1 UEFA Europa League The Brazilian attacker is happy to leave his future in the hands of his agents for now and is instead focusing only on himself Bordeaux attacker Malcom has admitted that if he wishes to win a summer move to a big club, he will have to rediscover his top gear.Arsenal, Tottenham and Bayern Munich are among the teams who have taken an interest in the 21-year-old, who has caught the eye this season with a series of spectacular performances in Ligue 1.The player himself has admitted that his season will be his last at Stade Matmut-Atlantique. Everything else gets left to my agents.”Speaking previously about the attacker, Poyet said: “He’s our special player. He likes to be a special player and it’s good for his character and his ambition to be a very good player, but it doesn’t work all the time.”While Malcom has primarily played wide on the left this season, he has been tipped for a playmaker role against Rennes at the weekend in a clash that will be important in Ligue 1’s European race.
Ames, Iowa, where seasons go to fall apart or get back on track.Oklahoma State defeated Iowa State 34-27 after back-to-back not great games from the Pokes. No longer will I have to hand out Ds for an abundance of turnovers or a defense that allows double-digit chunk plays. At least not this week.OSU’s Defense: AJust when you think Jim Knowles’ time as OSU’s defensive coordinator might be dead and buried …The Cowboys’ defense won that game for OSU, and it picked apart what some consider to be the best quarterback in the league.Brock Purdy came into Saturday’s game with four interceptions in the Cyclones’ first seven games of the year, and he threw three in the fourth quarter against OSU.The picks didn’t seem fluky either. There were a handful of near-INTs in the first half, and the Cowboys had 11 pass break-ups in the game.Spencer Sanders: B-This wasn’t a world-beater game from Spencer Sanders, and the offense honestly struggled mightly in the second half, but he gave the Pokes’ playmakers a chance. His 249 passing yards are boosted by the fact that Tylan Wallace and Braydon Johnson ran for a combined 121 yards after catch on two plays. But, Sanders played his role. Apart from his lone turnover, he didn’t try to do too much, and that’s a performance he can build off.Tylan Wallace: A+This is all you need to see:Matt Ammendola and Tom Hutton: A+Kickers and punters don’t get a whole lot of love.Like offensive linemen, you don’t often notice them unless something terrible happens, but OSU has two good ones. Will start with Hutton, who has taken some flack early in his college career at times. However, Hutton’s 17 punts downed inside the 20-yard line leads the conference by three. He also has just one touchback this season, meaning he has been quite accurate.Sure, he hasn’t gotten to unleash his leg yet this season with only four of his punts going longer than 50 yards, but he is a strength in the battle of field position. Three of Hutton’s six punts from Saturday were downed inside Iowa State’s 20.As for Ammendola, he’s 12-for-12 this season on field goals. He nailed a season-long 49-yarder Saturday like it was an extra point. In his early days as a Cowboy, Ammendola was known as a kid with a big leg who was inaccurate, and as a senior, he’s proving to be an all-around rock for OSU’s special teams. Transfers Real Madrid deny agreeing €272m Mbappe deal with PSG Goal Last updated 1 year ago 18:56 7/4/18 FacebookTwitterRedditcopy Comments(6) Transfers Real Madrid Ligue 1 Primera División PSG Kylian Mbappé Videos It has been stated in France that the 19-year-old is set for a summer switch to the Spanish capital, but the club insist they have not made an offer Real Madrid have denied reports that they have agreed a world-record €272 million (£239m/$316m) deal with Paris Saint-Germain to sign forward Kylian Mbappe.Mbappe joined PSG last year on an initial loan deal that will become permanent this summer in a deal that will see him become the second most expensive player in history. However, Madrid have been closely linked with the 19-year-old attacker, and it has been claimed in France that he is on his way to the Spanish capital this summer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who is reportedly set to joinJuventus after his shock revelation that he wants to leave . Mbappe scored 21 times in 44 games for the French club in his first season and has played a key role for the national team at the World Cup, having netted three times in four games. The statement comes just over a day after the Champions League holders made an announcement to clarify that talk of another world record deal with PSG had been struck, after it was reported that they were set to sign Neymar this summer for €310m (£275m/$360m) .Like Mbappe, the Brazilian has been continually linked to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit since arriving at the Parc des Princes team.
