He disclosed names of five persons involved with the stabbing.Quoting Niyamul, Sherpur police station inspector Bulbul Islam said Maruf and Shakil, 19, from Mohipur had an enmity over an old mobile phone set. On Wednesday night, Maruf’s friend Abbas had an altercation with Shakil over the phone set.At a stage of the altercation, Shakil’s friend Al Amin stabbed Abbas and Maruf indiscriminately in Bottola Bazar area of Mohipur village, leaving them injured critically.Locals rushed Abbas to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead on arrival.Family of the deceased said they would file a murder case.Sherpur police station office-in-charge Khan Md Erfan said police were trying to arrest other suspects.
© 2015 Phys.org When big ships unload their cargo, they are left mostly empty, which creates a weight distribution problem—to fix that problem, giant pumps are used to fill ballast tanks with water from the sea in which they reside. Unfortunately, those pumps also suck up local organisms, which then live in the ballast tanks for some period of time as the ship travels to a place to pick up cargo. Upon arrival, the water in the ballast tanks is pumped back into the sea in anticipation of new added cargo. But, as scientists, environmentalists, sports enthusiasts and others have found, that ballast water may contain an organism that is able to take up residence (dubbed an invasive species) in its new part of the world, and sometimes is able to dominate those already there, putting the legacy residents at risk. In this new effort, the researchers sought to put some metrics on the ballast tank dumping problem around the shores of their native Australia in an attempt to better understand the invasive species risk for the country. They gathered historical shipping data for the period 1999 to 2012, which included ballast filling and dumping information and data regarding organisms that are known to be able to survive living in ballast tanks.In analyzing their data using a computer model, they found that ballast dumping in Australian seaports more than doubled during the study period and that the majority of the increase was related to mining and forestry operations, which meant that the dumping increase was more often located in remote ports near mines, rather than in more established areas. They also found that a large percentage of ballast water was coming from the waters around Southeast Asia and China, which they suggest offers an opportunity for more research regarding which species from those areas might be in the ballast water being dumped in Australian ports and other places around the world. Maritime trade facilitates biological invasions by transferring species in ballast water, and on ships’ hulls. With volumes of maritime trade increasing globally, efforts to prevent these biological invasions are of significant importance. Both the International Maritime Organization and the Australian government have developed policy seeking to reduce the risk of these invasions. In this study, we constructed models for the transfer of ballast water into Australian waters, based on historic ballast survey data. We used these models to hindcast ballast water discharge over all vessels that arrived in Australian waters between 1999 and 2012. We used models for propagule survival to compare the risk of ballast-mediated propagule transport between ecoregions. We found that total annual ballast discharge volume into Australia more than doubled over the study period, with the vast majority of ballast water discharge and propagule pressure associated with bulk carrier traffic. As such, the ecoregions suffering the greatest risk are those associated with the export of mining commodities. As global marine trade continues to increase, effective monitoring and biosecurity policy will remain necessary to combat the risk of future marine invasion events. This mobile command center hosted at the back of a semi truck will travel around the U.S and Europe for cybersecurity training, preparedness, and response operations. The aim of this project is to provide an on-demand cybersecurity support, while building cybersecurity awareness and skills with professionals, students and consumers. Cybercriminals are getting smarter by the day and cyber crimes are becoming sophisticated by the hour. It is necessary for organizations to plan and rehearse their response to potential security breaches in advance. According to the 2018 Cost of a Data Breach Study, companies that respond to incidents effectively and remediate the event within 30 days can save over $1 million on the total cost of a data breach. Taking this into consideration, the C-TOC has the potential to provide immediate onsite support for clients at times when their cybersecurity needs may arise. A Security researcher from Google’s Project Zero team recently revealed a high severity flaw in the macOS kernel that allows a copy-on-write (COW) behavior, a resource-management technique, also referred to as shadowing. The researcher informed Apple about the flaw back in November 2018, but the company is yet to fix it even after exceeding the 90-day deadline. This is the reason why the bug is now being made public with a “high severity” label. According to a post on Monorail, the issue tracking tool is for chromium-related projects, “The copy-on-write behavior works not only with anonymous memory but also with file mappings. This means that, after the destination process has started reading from the transferred memory area, memory pressure can cause the pages holding the transferred memory to be evicted from the page cache. Later, when the evicted pages are needed again, they can be reloaded from the backing filesystem.” “This means that if an attacker can mutate an on-disk file without informing the virtual management subsystem, this is a security bug. MacOS permits normal users to mount filesystem images. When a mounted filesystem image is mutated directly (e.g. by calling pwrite() on the filesystem image), this information is not propagated into the mounted filesystem”, the post further reads. According to a Google project member, “We’ve been in contact with Apple regarding this issue, and at this point no fix is available. Apple is intending to resolve this issue in a future release, and we’re working together to assess the options for a patch. We’ll update this issue tracker entry once we have more details.” A user commented on HackerNews, “Given the requirements that a secondary process should even be able to modify a file that is already open, I guess the expected behavior is that the 1st process’s version should remain cached in memory while allowing the on-disk (CoW) version to be updated? While also informing the 1st process of the update and allowing the 1st process to reload/reopen the file if it chooses to do so. Revenue per available room (RevPAR) was EUR79.46, an increase of 5.6%.Each of the three key performance metrics were the highest STR has ever benchmarked for Europe.“Hotel markets across Europe have benefitted from a wide range of factors in recent years,” said Robin Rossmann, STR’s managing director. “While hotel performance was up for nearly every world region in 2017, Europe was the clear leader in terms of growth.
